Philosophy
At the heart of my work is a simple desire: to offer something of enduring value. Whether performing, creating, or teaching, I strive to act as a channel for something greater than myself. I believe that true artistry requires the ego to step aside, allowing for a creative flow that is as much about receiving as it is about giving. In my pedagogy, this translates to a cycle of gratitude—sharing the insights I have been granted with humility, and with the conviction that they are the truest answers I have found... so far...
Bio
Robert is a Borås-based musician, composer, and educator with a distinguished career spanning both the classroom and the international stage. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a specialization in Music, a foundation that informs his dual role as a teacher and a global pedagogical innovator.
As a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team, Robert has been instrumental in developing world-class resources, most notably the Vic Firth Dojo Challenge. His current creative efforts are deeply rooted in the Indoor Percussion community, where he specializes in composing and producing full-scale shows and bespoke educational materials for elite ensembles.
As an active performer within the Swedish music scene, Robert is a versatile multi-instrumentalist—primarily on drums, guitar, and piano. He is a member of the Melo Trio (alongside Mathias Melo and Ove Andersson) and has shared the stage with well known musicians such as Nils Landgren, Gunhild Carling, Wojtek Goral, and Marcos Ubeda.
Robert lives in Borås with his wife and two daughters, maintaining a dedicated balance between shaping the next generation of musicians and advancing the global art of percussion.
